Rs 1 Crore in Angel Funding For CollegeDunia


An online portal for providing comprehensive listing colleges, institutes and b-schools of India, started in May 2014 has been reported to gain an amount of Rs 1 crore via angel funding by an automobile portal Gaadi.com. Gaadi.com belongs to MIH group owned by its CEO Umang Kumar. There are certain undiclosed investors in the funding. The huge amount, as told by, Sahil Chalana, the founder of CollegeDunia, will be utilized in technology, marketing and operations of the portal.

Currently CollegeDunia lists over 700 colleges with the comprehensive detail of each college. This information, end to end, provides almost everything, one would want to know about – be its history, establishment, courses offered, fee, geograhpical details, facilities offered and so on. The portal also provides information about all major entrance exams like CAT.


With just 30 people working for this portal, and having a visitor count of 1 lac currently, it aims to reach to more than double as far as employee base is concerned, and a visitor count of over a million; within next 6 months.
